Two words
Yet they can have such an impact
How do you choose to respond to them?
What do they mean to you?

Maybe this is not something that we talk about enough
As a professional and creative entrepreneur
What I do is not always tangible to others
I would struggle with placing value on my offerings
What are they worth?
What am I worth?
These questions can eat at your soul
They would hold me back
I want to reach a wide range of people
And yet I also need to honor myself
My gifts, my experience, my knowledge is varied and unique
My passions and desire to connect is true
My latest offering … A Girl’s Journey is important
It is needed

There was so much time and thought
Into deciding the “value” of these circles
In another time
Women and girls of the village would gather by the light of the full moon
They would honor a girl’s first blood
They would celebrate her journey from maiden to woman
They would share their wisdom on connection, love, and trust...
On topics of healing, herbs, food, respect for all life.
They would learn life skills
Families would barter and share
A shared value... one providing fresh bread, another textiles, another medicinal knowledge
Combining their gifts, their offerings

Today, where we live, this is unfortunately no longer the way
In order to support our families
Currency is the medium
How do you determine a currency value for an experience?
Is there really a way to do this…
Or is it truly quite arbitrary?

I weigh my offering…  A Girl’s Journey – Inspirational Circles
6 circle gatherings
9+ hours of knowledge, connection and learning from local women
Combining our scholarly knowledge from
Doctorate, Master, and Teaching degrees
with our other gifts and knowing
Photography, sound healing, art, meditation… and more
All 3 of us Mothers of daughters ourselves
A unique program designed to inspire girls … body, mind, spirit, nature connection
A workbook created specifically for the program to work through and keep as a guide
A personal journal for notes and exploration
A professional photo-shoot… “valued on its own” at $120+
A personal take-away bag containing inspiring and empowering items from local businesses…
most of which also led by female entrepreneurs
The opportunity to continue learning and connecting in a free online group with future drop-in activities
and adventures with the girl’s from these circles.

Then I place a value…

A number
For some it may seem large
For others, it may seem too little
But I embrace it
I am worth it
We are worth it
The program is worth it
Does listing and sharing like this even matter?
Does it make you uncomfortable… or does it give you clarity?

I do not really know
One time I would not have made a post discussing value and worth
For me it would have been uncomfortable
But, I have realized that it all comes down to trusting in what I am offering
I know who I am
I know that I am passionate about the transition from girlhood to womanhood
And I am joined and supported by other women with the same passion

This transition
It can be confusing, uncomfortable, emotional.
 It is also amazing, unique, and powerful.
Sadly in much of today’s “modern society”
This wonderful transitional experience is getting lost
in fear,
in disgust,
in unknowing...

I believe in A Girl’s Journey
It is a stepping stone for those who join us
My hope is for it to continue to be a place of support and connection in this busy time that we live
To teach young girls, to remind them
How to build a sisterhood of girls
Who are connected, non-judgemental, inspired...

Our world needs this
The “Mean Girl” term has become universal
It is a “thing”
The “Inspired Girl” is what we need
These girls are our future
Embracing their sense of SELF with honesty and strength.
Standing in their truth and leading the way
This is Value
This is Worth

I will be the silver haired crone sitting on the rocks singing to the ocean... and imagining
this image brings so much peace and happiness to my heart.

To be, to connect, to express as YOU
This is the message I wish to portray always.

It is freeing. 
My story is not one of great loss or drama.
My childhood was filled with love and security, yet I still had my struggles. We all do and it’s okay. 
Find a way to share your passions; your journey.
There is always someone who will connect to you, possibly be inspired by your words, your art, your imagery ...  
and I truly believe that it is in these moments,
these aha experiences from person to person that will make the greatest change in this world.
To break down all the walls.
To remove the egos.
To open our hearts and minds to a greater existence.
This is where the magic resides.
It is in each one of us...
It is in what we do
It is in what we say
It is our experiences
Our connections with others and our surroundings

It is this magic that I aim to capture in my imagery
...that I aim to convey in my words
...that I share person to person
