She walked amid the trees Before her A rushing of water Wild, dark, turbulent She stood watching Sticks, debris Moving past Clearing Movement With such sheer natural purpose Such power She moved closer Kneeling at the edge Her reflection blurred She reached, trickling her fingers Eyes closed She felt the sensations Cool, slippery, wet She stood Walking along the grassy bank A bend ahead A small pool The water slowed Clearer, calmer At rest Here She knelt again Her reflection now clear Below Rocks and pebbles visible Gently rolling, tumbling The current subtle Soft A splash A fish leapt and landed Ripples form Spreading outward Again She closes her eyes A smile A deep breath The River Nature's mirror A lesson in clarity The turbulent and the peaceful Merged Connected One in the same Balance Prose & Imagery by Mandy Spry, @welcomearms A reminder When you take the time One of our greatest teachers Is Nature herself |
