Of connection and reflection
That we feel the most in tune
with ourselves

When our backs are leaned against a tree
Our body firmly grounded to the earth
The warmth of the sun on our skin

A Light for All

Bathed in the sun's golden glow
She feels ageless
Wrapped in her shawl
Full-filled
Hair wild

Her senses heightened
Around her
A comfortable darkness is falling
She smells earth
A hint of frankincense

In her cottage
A scratching of tiny feet, subtle, soft
A gust of wind
Fresh with moisture
Carries the scent of sweet grasses

An open hearth
Fire blazes
Broth simmers
Aromatic herbal goodness swirls
Filling each nook, each cranny

She sighs
Her eyes clouded
Near blind
Yet she sees
Clearer than most

So wise
A beacon of comfort
For those who seek her
Her knowing sacred, trusted
A light for all

Silence
Eyes closed
Darkness

Deep breath
Then floating
Inward I go
A moment

Detached from all
Neither happy
Nor sad
Muted

Reflective
Stillness
Sitting in a pocket
Of my thoughts

Something catches in my throat
I sigh
Tears tease my eyes
They fall

My cheeks welcome
The wet
The salty
Again
... I am floating

Feeling free
No expectations
Except to be
And in this space

She closes her eyes
Arms lifted, chin tilted
Raising onto her toes
She twirls
Contract, release, extend

Her knees bend
Arms move through port a bras
Leg extends
Hips open
Turn-out natural
Feels so right

Feet stretched
She feels the earth beneath her
Every muscle engaged
Yet stillness
For a moment
A pause

Her body aging, changed
No longer the limber lines of her youth
More effort
Yet a dancer still
In movement she will forever feel home

What is it?
When you hug someone
And the energy is intense
You step back
And within each other’s eyes
Tears well
For a moment, just silence
Like time stands still
And
You know that you are in the presence
Of a known soul
Not that of a lover
But there is an unspoken love
A power
A sisterhood
Not that of a blood bond
But one born
Of a shared universal energy
Of another time
Hearts open
Sacred truth
A story shared
What is it?
I may not fully know
But in that hug
And in the words shared to follow
I am Heard
I am Seen
I am Grateful
