Belonging Acceptance So often met with walls Those she met A feeling A sense Instant judgement They recoil . This The empath life An existence Where your power Can seem your curse To feel To know Is startling Often as a child In youth This is misunderstood Not yet embodied Treading on loose stones A stumble Looking for guidance For a sign Unsure Withdrawn To a place of solitude Comfort in silence Alone A refuge The hurt spears her heart So vulnerable yet Boundaries uncertain Sensitive they say Tears well Strength continues to evade She As a mirror Reflecting onto others Their true selves Unsettled Most flee Some attack Words, actions, lies So much fear Standing, rooted Face raised She asks... Will there be belonging? Knowing? Trust? . She perseveres Heart blazing Tides rise and fall Storms surge, they settle The moon waxes, it wanes And in this duality She knows Where there is fear, hate, anger There is hope There is passion There is trust . To reflect truth To finally see it shining back Unfettered Embraced It is like a beacon Of two souls Merged Seen And with each soul meeting Greater awakening Power reclaimed She is whole Grateful Free . ... And in those she has met Where pain was inflicted She understands fear Uncertainty And she forgives As in rising There is universal love . . .
